Art on the Prom will take place on Felixstowe’s sea front on Sunday September 2nd 2018.

All stalls are now taken for this year's event, but you can add your name to the waiting list by applying through the Take Part page. Stalls (7m/two fences) will cost £65. This year there is the option to book a half stall (3.5m/one fence) at the cost of £35.

Art on the Prom is a free community event organised by a small group of volunteers. We are grateful to them and our sponsors for their backing.

A programme of events and performers to keep the whole family entertained.


Whether you are interested in painting, drawing, ceramics, prints or textiles you will find something to attract you at one of our artist stalls. This year over 100 artists are participating. You can see examples of their work on the studio page.

Entertainment and music

There will be a variety of bands and entertainers taking part on the day.  These include the Ipswich Hospital Band on the lawn from 1pm, J S and the Lockerbillies on the lawn in the morning, Felixstowe Harmonies at the bottom of Bent Hill in the morning, Skedaddle ceilidh band by the War Memorial in the morning ,Danegeld Morris Dancers near the Spa Theatre from 2pm and Bridie the stiltwalking tea lady at various times throughout the day.


Food and drink providers include Adnams drinks tent, Bombay Nites curries, Xpresso Coffee van, Peters Ice Cream van, Fairtrade cakes and drinks.

Have-A-Go Workshops

Young and old can drop in at any time between 10am and 4pm to have a go at using a range of art media. The workshops are led by friendly professional artists and all materials are provided free. There are facilities to support participants with disabilities.  This year on offer are:- Seascape Collage with paper, tissue, paints and sand; Corn Dollies with traditional straw weaving; Jitterbug Tiles using clay, mini-beast casts and metallic paints; Paint-a-Picnic using fabric and dyes; Weaving using ribbons, string, sticks and thread.

New this year is a Drawing workshop for 15 years old and above.  This is repeated at 10.30, 12.30 and 2.30.  Book your place by contacting Malcolm Cudmore on 01986 893291 or
